Binibeca beach & local restaurants

La Calera is situated in a quiet residential area just a short walk from Binibeca beach where there is a lovely beach bar called Los Bucaneros, which has served the same simple menu, from the tiniest kitchen I have ever seen, for as long as I can remember coming to Menorca (nearly 40 years!).

5 minutes walk away from La Calera is Cala Torret (on the way to the beach) where there are some restaurants and bars overlooking the sea and a small supermarket.

There is also a wonderful little bakery in the square where they serve simple, healthy breakfasts and sandwiches during the day, becoming a cocktail bar at night!

The Redorka information office is situated on the road leading to the beach  where there are also places to hire bikes, kayaks and scuba diving lessons.

Bar Paupa is set on the quay overlooking the small harbour. It is a wonderful setting and has a simple yet good menu. At night time it always vibrant and a good place for late night drinks and music.

About 10 minutes walk down the coast towards Biniancolla is a fish restaurant called En Caragol which looks out to sea. It is a wonderful place to eat and watch the sun set. It is quite expensive but well worth a visit.

A little further down is the fishermans’ inlet of Biniancolla where there is an Italian restaurant called La Baia. Again a stunning view surrounded by fishermans’ boats and a view out to sea. It is simple and unpretentious, family friendly and well priced. A good place for large families as the children can play not the rocks whilst waiting for the food to arrive. They do very good pizzas!
